Who is The Marriage Group®? We are a Catholic marriage prep company that has proudly been forming faithful marriages since 2009.

That’s The Marriage Group’s mission, and it’s about more than finishing a course. We want every couple we serve to foster a strong, faith-filled marriage that shapes the people around them: their families, their parish, and their community.
We believe the Church is strengthened one marriage at a time—so we build formation that welcomes couples as they are, invites them deeper, and stays with them long after the wedding. Marriages rooted in Christ and marked by real commitment: that’s what we’re about. We invite all couples and ministry leaders to step into this mission with us!
Our story.
From one online course in 2009 to a lifelong companion for married couples.
- 2009
Online marriage prep begins
The Marriage Group founders brought backgrounds in technology, online marketing, and business to a simple idea: marriage prep couples could take anywhere. With the Archdiocese of Detroit, they created a first-of-its-kind online Catholic marriage prep course.
- 2011
A Marriage in the Lord
Working with the Family Ministries Office of the Archdiocese of Chicago, we brought its weekend Pre-Cana course, A Marriage in the Lord, online so more couples could take it wherever they live.
- 2012
Natural Family Planning, online
Our second project with the Archdiocese of Chicago taught the Billings Ovulation Method of Natural Family Planning online. Thousands of couples around the world have since completed it.
- 2013
Marriage prep in Spanish
Hispanic Catholics make up an estimated 40% of the Church in the United States. With the Archdioceses of Chicago and Miami, we produced Preparación Matrimonial Católica to serve them.
- 2014
NFP in Spanish
Continuing our work with Spanish-speaking couples, we filmed Aprende PFN En Línea, a Spanish course on the Billings Ovulation Method, in Costa Rica.
- 2016
Living Our Faith in Love®
With ministry leaders and Pre-Cana instructors from across the country, we produced Living Our Faith in Love® in high definition: a Pre-Cana course that feels current and stays rooted in Catholic teaching.
- 2017
NFP Life®
Parishes asked for a broad introduction to Natural Family Planning that works alongside whatever methods they teach locally. NFP Life® answered that call, introducing women and couples to the good news of NFP.
- 2019
Claudio Mora joins the team
After seven years as Director of Family Life for the Diocese of Dallas, Claudio Mora joined us as Director of Catholic Programs, bringing a pastoral leader’s perspective and formal training in religion and theology.
- 2021
A new theology of marriage segment
We filmed a new Theology and Spirituality of Marriage segment in Dallas. In it, Claudio presents the Catholic vision of marriage in a way that is both profound and approachable.
- 2022
NFP course rebuilt
We rebuilt our Natural Family Planning content from scratch with Kyle and Dr. Danielle Koestner. Their personal witness opens the NFP segment of our Pre-Cana course, and NFP Life® now goes deeper into the beauty and science of several methods.
- 2023
A new home in a renovated church
We moved our headquarters into a renovated church in Port Huron’s historic district and built a video studio, where we now film all new course content.
- 2024
Our family grew
Michelle Shepley joined as COO and CFO—with extensive experience spanning small family-run businesses and large corporations, Michelle brings a unique blend of expertise and leadership. We also added new marriage prep and enrichment content with Andrew and Terri Lyke, Tom and Marcy Renken, and Dr. Lauri Przybysz. Additionally, we produced new NFP material with Daria Bailey and Natalie Klinkhammer.

Beyond the wedding day
We launched Marriage Every Day®, a community that walks with couples long after the wedding. Later that year, Custom Course Creation™ began tailoring Pre-Cana to each couple’s life, from military service to blended families, on top of the core formation every couple receives.
