About Jennie McClelland

Jennie Graves McClelland is a freelance writer and independent journalist with a degree in Interdisciplinary Social Science from Michigan State University. Jennie publishes BlueWaterParent.com, an online resource for parents, grandparents, and caregivers in the Port Huron area of Michigan.

She has worked as a substitute teacher, online English teacher, and local news reporter. Jennie has been married for over 30 years, has three daughters, three sons, and one son-in-law. Over the years, she has served her local parish as a Catechism teacher and has led small groups covering a variety of topics related to marriage, parenting, and spirituality.

She enjoys volunteering for youth organizations, reading, flower gardening, and enjoying nature. Jennie hopes to ask the right questions, listen to people's stories, and make connections.
